About

The mission of the Bank Street Center for Children’s Literature (CCL) is to create, identify, and advocate for the highest quality literature for all children from infancy through adolescence, to ensure that such literature is readily accessible to every child, and to foster in parents, educators, and policy makers a commitment to the principle that good literature is fundamental to literacy.

The CCL is housed in the Bank Street College Library. The Library contains a circulating collection of over 68,000 children’s books and the Claudia Lewis research collection. The components of the CCL are: The Children’s Book Committee, Bookfest@BankStreet, Irma Simonton and James H. Black Award, The Cook Prize and The Writers Lab. For more information please contact Director Jennifer Brown at jbrown@bankstreet.edu.

Our CCL blog banner was created using a sketch from the very generous Fiona Robinson and Caldecott medal winner Chris Raschka designed the CCL logo.

How does one submit a Children’s Book for consideration? May I send you a hard copy or a code for an e-book?
    Thank you,
