The Bank Street Children’s Book Committee is delighted to announce the 2015 Children’s Book Committee Awards.

2015 Josette Frank Award

for Older Readers

The Josette Frank Award is given each year to honor a book or books of outstanding literary merit in which children or young people deal in a positive and realistic way with difficulties in their world and grow emotionally and morally.

for Older Readers

The Claudia Lewis Award is given for the best poetry book of the year for young readers.

2015 Flora Stieglitz Straus Award

Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out by Susan Kuklin (Candlewick Press)

The Flora Straus Award is given for an information book that serves as an inspiration to young readers.

The awards will be celebrated at Bank Street College on Thursday, March 12th, 2015. Congratulations to all of the winners!
