The Here and Now
Ann Brashares
Delacorte Press
2014
Penna, 17, immigrates back from a different time ending up in NJ. She falls in love but must deal with the heartbreaking rules of her secret community.
Young Reviewer:
It’s different from other books because at first it felt like some dystopian “rebel-against-the-community”!  But instead it was about time travelers and two people sent off on a kind of mission that could change the future, which was an interesting spin.  I believe one of the best parts of the entire book is getting to see the main character, Prenna, change.  It’s interesting to see who she became and what she did by the end of the book.
– Emma, 13, Washington DC
