I’ve Lost My Hippopotamus
by Jack Prelutsky
illustrated by Jackie Urbanovic
Our young reviewers say:
We liked how it told small short stories but it was written in poems. It was nice to read a book of poetry like Shel Silverstein that wasn’t by him. We liked how the author combined words together to make new words like pelicantaloupes.
We really liked the illustrations and that a lot of them included animals. The pictures varied a lot and some looked like they were from different illustrators. – Greer and Reese (sisters), ages 9 and 6, Colorado
Their mother adds: “We ordered copies of …Hippo for several upcoming birthday parties.”
